Nikolaos Tentopoulos was born and raised in Koliri (Pyrgou), Elias - Greece.

Following completion of High School at the “Gymnasio Arenon Pyrgou”, Nikolaos went to Athens to continue his studies in Higher Education.

Upon completion of his studies in Athens, Nikolaos presented himself to the Hellenic armed forces for mandatory military service. It was there that he was assigned to the Army Technical Corps, and completed his service stationed at the NATO base in Smyrna, Turkey.

In March 1962, Nikolaos successfully passed the required examinations, and obtained a position with the technical department of OTE (Hellenic Telecommunications Organization).

In August 1962, Nikolaos left Greece and moved to Montreal, Canada. By 1965, he brought his wife to be, Maria, from Greece, and they married. Nikolaos and Maria have two daughters “Athina” and “Ioanna”, and five grandchildren.

Nikolaos has been living in Laval, Quebec for the past 28 years. In addition to being a well-known and respected member of the Hellenic Communities in both Laval and Montreal, on multiple terms in the past 40 years, Nikolaos has served both communities as a Board member, and head of the Greek schools.

Nikolaos is one of the original members of the Elian Association “Ermis” of Montreal, and has served throughout the years, as Secretary, and on multiple terms as President.

In addition, Nikolaos is one of the founding members of the Panelian Federation of USA & Canada, having also served as its Supreme President.
